Feeding Our Community
The Mickie Diaz & Charles Landis Thanksgiving Dinner
Annually the committee serves over 2,000 free turkey & ham dinners, including meals that are delivered to homebound individuals.
Coordinating With Our Community
Local Collaboration
We coordinate with the City of Tolleson, Tolleson Union High School & over a dozen other local businesses and organizations to serve our community on Thanksgiving Day & throughout the year.
Supporting Our Community
Identifying Those In Need
We actively identify those with a need in our community at which time the committee votes on how to best utilize committee resources to support the person or family in need.

How To Serve The Community
With a majority of our volunteers being students from throughout the Tolleson Union High School District, It's no wonder The Mickie Diaz & Charles Landis Thanksgiving Dinner has been a success for over 3 decades. When the youth serve their community, their future is secure!

Ms. Locha Parker has made an everlasting imprint in the West Valley and particularly the Tolleson Service Committee since she helped to establish the organization in 1982. Her selfless actions & dedication to her community has left a lasting impact on our committee as well as our community.

Students Serving Their Community
High schools that volunteer for this event include: Tolleson Union, Westview, La Joya Community, Copper Canyon, Sierra Linda, & University. Specific groups from these schools that volunteer include: The National Honor Society, J.R.O.T.C., Student Council, & Culinary Arts Students.
